The Lodge of the White Rock was founded on the 1st April 1963 in a ceremony held

at the White Rock Theatre, St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex.

The Lodge takes its name from a large outcrop of chalk that was once present near

to where our meetings now take place.

The Lodge was consecrated at the White Rock Pavilion, but then meetings were

transferred to our current location at the Assembly Rooms.

Originally The Lodge of The White Rock was purely a lodge of research and

consisted of only joining members. Out of necessity to maintain members new

initiates were admitted to the lodge. To uphold tradition we hold at least one lecture every year usually at our Christmas meeting.

We are about to start our 47th year and will have a new master elect to be regularly installed in our September meeting.
